Choice Circle

Choice Circle is a spinner wheel interaction that allows you to manually enter a curated list of entries and then roll the wheel to randomly select one of them. This feature is perfect for controlled selection processes such as giveaways, random draws, or decision-making scenarios during your live sessions.

Choice Circle is different from the Winning Wheel because it requires you to manually enter the choices the wheel will pick from. The Winning Wheel is focused on automatically adding users from the chat to the spinner wheel.

Unlike automated interactions that pull data from chat, Choice Circle requires you to input the entries manually, ensuring that the options presented are exactly as you intend. Once set up, simply roll the wheel to reveal a randomly chosen entry in a fun and engaging way.

In this guide, we’ll explore how to set up Choice Circle, customization options, how to roll the wheel during your presentation, and frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use Choice Circle or Winning Wheel?

Both Choice Circle and Winning Wheel are interactive spinning wheels in StreamAlive, but they serve different purposes:

  • Choice Circle requires you to manually enter the entries before spinning the wheel. This makes it ideal for selecting from a specific set of options, such as discussion topics, team assignments, or curated participant names.

  • Winning Wheel automatically pulls names from the chat, making it perfect for random prize draws, audience participation, or spontaneous selections. You also have the option to remove winning names to ensure fairness in multiple rounds.

If you need full control over the entries, use Choice Circle. If you want a randomized selection based on chat participants, go with Winning Wheel.

How Do I Add Entries to Choice Circle?

You manually enter each entry directly into the Choice Circle interface. This allows you full control over the options, ensuring that only the entries you specify are included in the spinner wheel.

How Does It Work in the Presentation Live Screen?

  • Once Choice Circle is activated, it appears as a spinner wheel on the Presentation Live Screen, visible to both the presenter and the audience.

  • The wheel spins automatically the first time, it gradually slows down, finally stopping to highlight a randomly selected entry.

  • To spin it again, you will need to manually restart it.

Can You Customize the Spinner Wheel?

Yes! You can adjust the colors, fonts, and design elements of the Choice Circle to match your presentation’s theme. This customization helps create a visually cohesive experience that complements your overall presentation.

What If I Want to Roll the Wheel Multiple Times?

You can roll the wheel as many times as you need. Additionally, you have the option to decide whether to remove a selected entry after a roll or keep it in the pool for future spins.

Is There an Option to Upload a List of Entries?

Currently, Choice Circle requires you to manually enter each entry. There is no option to bulk-upload a list, ensuring that you have complete control over the entries used in the spinner wheel.

Creating an Ad-hoc Choice Circle Interaction

What’s the Purpose of Creating an Ad-hoc Choice Circle Interaction?

An ad-hoc interaction in StreamAlive allows you to launch audience engagement features instantly during your live session, without planning them in advance. This is perfect for quickly setting up a spinner wheel when you need to select an option or a winner on the fly. (If you’re new to ad-hoc interactions, check out this help article for more details.)

Why Use an Ad-hoc Choice Circle Interaction?

While you can add a Choice Circle to your presentation ahead of time, running it as an ad-hoc interaction gives you the flexibility to manually input a fresh, curated list of entries based on the evolving context of your session.

For example, if you're hosting an impromptu giveaway or need to make a spontaneous decision during a live game, you can launch Choice Circle on the spot to randomly select an option from a list you’ve just compiled. This approach ensures that the selection is relevant to the moment, keeping audience engagement high and the process interactive.

By using an ad-hoc Choice Circle interaction, you can seamlessly integrate live decision-making into your session, adding a fun and dynamic element to your presentation that responds directly to real-time needs.

  1. Connect StreamAlive to your session
