StreamAlive for PowerPoint

StreamAlive allows you to add interactive elements to your PowerPoint presentations to engage your audience with polls, quizzes, Q&A, and more. This document will guide you through using StreamAlive within PowerPoint.

1. Installation and Setup

  • Download the Add-in: Download the StreamAlive add-in from the Microsoft AppSource marketplace.

  • Install the Add-in: Follow the installation instructions provided by Microsoft.

  • Access StreamAlive: Once installed, you'll typically find StreamAlive within the "Insert" or "Home" tab of PowerPoint.

2. Creating and Preparing Your Presentation

  • Create your presentation content as you normally would within PowerPoint.

  • It's generally recommended to finalize your slide content and order before adding StreamAlive interactions. This helps avoid potential adjustments to your interactive elements if you make changes to the presentation structure.

3. Adding StreamAlive Interactions

  • Open StreamAlive: Open the StreamAlive add-in within your PowerPoint presentation.

  • Select Interaction Type: You'll typically see a sidebar or panel with a selection of interaction types (polls, quizzes, word clouds, etc.). Select the interaction you want to add.

  • Configure the Interaction:

    • Enter your question or prompt.

    • Provide answer options (if applicable).

    • Customize the appearance (if available).

  • Embed the Interaction: The StreamAlive interaction will be embedded into your slide. You can usually resize and reposition the interaction elements.

4. Presenting with StreamAlive

  • Start Slideshow: Start your presentation in PowerPoint's slideshow mode.

  • Start the StreamAlive Session:

    • Click on the embedded StreamAlive interaction within your slide.

    • This will typically open a new tab or window with the StreamAlive live presentation view.

  • Choose Presentation Destination: Choose your streaming destination (Zoom, Twitch, etc.) within the live presentation view.

  • Control the Interaction: Control the interaction (start/stop poll, advance slides, etc.) from the live presentation view.

  • Audience Participation: Your audience will participate through their devices using the provided link or instructions.

  • When your presentation is finished, disconnect the StreamAlive session.
