Let’s get started and find that link so you can deliver an engaging and interactive session!
How do I find the Google Meet meeting link?
On the Google Meet website, you will see the “New meeting” option on the homepage. This option allows you to create or schedule a meeting.
Upon clicking the button, Google Meet will provide you with three options to choose from to start your meeting.
Create a meeting for later
Start an instant meeting
Schedule in Google Calendar
Depending on how you choose to start one, the way to find the meeting link changes. Let us look at each of the cases one at a time:
Create a meeting for later
When you click on “Create a meeting for later”, Google will provide you with the meeting details/joining info.
To copy the joining information, click on the icon next to the meeting link.
Start an instant meeting
Upon choosing this option, Google Meet will automatically start a new meeting.
To copy the joining information, click on the button on the right of the joining info.
In case you closed the pop-up without copying the information, don’t worry!
You can also find the joining info either by:
Click on the "i" icon on the bottom right side of the screen and then copy the meeting link.
Copying the URL on the address bar. (URL and meeting link is always the same)
In StreamAlive, when you create a session, or from the Presentations page, there is the option to enter the Google Meet link.
Schedule in Google Calendar
If your meeting is already scheduled in your calendar, you can find the Google Meet link by clicking on the event.
You can then simply copy the meeting link and enter it into StreamAlive.
If you’re creating a new Google Meet meeting in your calendar, create the event as normal.
Some Google Workspaces require you to manually add a Google Meet video call to the meeting, others have it such that it automatically adds a Google Meet video call as the default.
Either way, once the Google Meet video call is added to your event, you’ll find the meeting link.
To copy the joining information, click on the copy icon found next to the settings button
You can also click on “Save” and then find the joining information by clicking on the respective scheduled meeting and again on the copy button to copy the info.
